Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

A pair of National League West teams will get together on Friday for the first of a three-game series. These two teams are the top two in the division, just ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Diamondbacks are coming off their single game at Washington, where they beat up the hapless Nationals. The win was their second in a row and 46th win in 76 games this season. 

For the Giants, they are coming off an afternoon affair at home against the San Diego Padres. The Giants had their 10-game winning streak snapped in that one via a San Diego blowout.  San Francisco is now 42-33 on the season. The San Francisco Giants are favorites in this one. Arizona Sends Veteran to the Mound

Zach Davies will get the start for Arizona. Davies has thrown just over 31 innings this season and holds a 1-3 record and a 7.11 earned run average. The 30-year-old from Washington has been poor in his last two starts. Over those starts, Davies has allowed 12 earned runs over 6.2 innings.

 

Arizona got a big three-run home run from Ketel Marte in the win on Thursday, his 12th of the season. The Diamondbacks have 4 guys with double-digit home runs, with youngster Corbin Carroll leading the way with 16. Carroll also is hitting .298 on the season, which leads the young Arizona offense.

 

Gabriel Moreno has been solid for the Diamondbacks this season, as basically the everyday catcher. His offense has slowed a bit as of late, with just 3 hits in his last 20 at-bats, but overall he is hitting .265 and has done a great job steadying the staff. Giants Looking to Stay Hot

Despite the blow-out loss on Thursday, the Giants are one of the hottest teams in all of Major League Baseball. 10 wins in their last 11 games is quite a feat. During the 10-game winning streak, the Giants outscored opponents 81-31. The Giants swept the Cardinals and then won three out of four against the Padres.

 

San Francisco is doing this in a variety of ways, including solid starting pitching, a good bullpen, and timely hitting. Michael Conforto is the top homerun hitter on the Giants, with 12 on the season. Mike Yastrzemski has 10, and so does J.D. Davis. Those three are the one guys with double digits for San Francisco.

 

Logan Webb, the Giants ace, will get the start on Friday. Webb is coming off a solid outing at the Dodgers on June 18th. In that start, the 26-year-old went 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 earned runs. The Giants ace is 6-6 on the season, with a 3.11 earned run average. Webb has thrown 98.1 innings this season and struck out 96 batters.

Giants Back on Track with Win
