We should have one of the more lopsided games of the day on Wednesday night in the NHL as the Edmonton Oilers will be taking on the Arizona Coyotes. Edmonton comes into this one as clearly the better team, as they currently are in third place in the Pacific Division with a 40-23-8 record and 88 points. Those 88 points rank them within the top five in the Western Conference.
The Coyotes are one of those teams that typically find a way to win games that nobody expects they’re going to win. Although they’ve had a very disappointing season, once again, they still have 65 points and have proven that they can beat anyone on any given night.
Edmonton will be coming into this one at -450 on the money line and -180 on the puck line. In terms of Arizona, they come in at +155 on the puck line and +360 on the moneyline.
Will Edmonton Dominate this Game?
When looking at what the Edmonton Oilers have done this season, it’s easy to see why people do believe that this team has a legitimate opportunity of winning a Stanley Cup this year. Although Edmonton has had games where they don’t come out and take care of business, this team is highly regarded as one of the top teams in the NHL.
They come into this one playing some excellent hockey throughout their last 10 games, going 8-2 in that stretch.
Furthermore, they’ve also won four straight games now and have done this against some impressive teams.
In those four games, they have wins over the Dallas Stars and Seattle Kraken. They also beat the Boston Bruins in this 10-game stretch. The reason for their continued success is because of guys like Conor McDavid and Evander Kane.
If they’re going to want to win this game, they still need to come out and take care of business. Arizona is one of those teams that typically finds a way to beat teams that nobody ever thinks that they’re going to, as we previously said, so this is a huge game for Edmonton at the end of the day.
Arizona’s Playing Better Recently
The Arizona Coyotes have had a disappointing season, but that doesn’t mean that they still aren’t playing some decent hockey throughout their past 10 games. In their last 10, the Coyotes have six wins and only two regulation losses. This team has been racking up some points throughout the past few weeks, and that’s a good sign for a team that has struggled throughout the past few seasons.
It won’t be easy for them to get a point in this game, but they have more than enough to get the job done as we’ve seen throughout the past couple of games. They lost to the Avalanche and Devils in overtime, then beat the Flames in overtime.
Arizona Coyotes vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction
Due to this game being played in Edmonton and the Oilers simply being the better team than the Coyotes, taking them to win the game outright doesn’t seem like a bad idea if you have another play that you want to parlay the game with. However, taking the Coyotes +1.5 seems like a good bet here considering that we can get it at +155.
