Here we are, with a very exciting matchup going down. Two of the nation’s top offenses will be squaring off in a battle that could give Clemson the ACC title. They are yet to lose a game and have been dominant on both sides of the ball.
BC is 4-1 in the conference and ranks inside of the top-25 in points scored. The offense has impressed, but they sure have their hands full today. A team as good as they are finding themselves as 19-point underdogs (+19!!!) is insane.

Clemson Tigers Rolling Along
With the fourth highest-scoring offense at 47.8 points per game and fourth best-scoring defense at 13.3 points per game allowed, the Tigers are a real force. Kelly Bryant’s transfer has not hurt them at all, as we have seen freshman Trevor Lawrence emerge as a big-game QB. He’s got 1,549 yards, 18 TD’s, and just three interceptions. Running back Travis Etienne has been unreal in 2018 as well, averaging 8.6 yards per carry as he has picked up 999 yards and 15 TD’s on only 116 carries. In nine games, the Tigers have scored 56 offensive touchdowns, and really don’t seem to have a kryptonite. Dabo Swinney is doing a great job.
On defense, the success starts with pass-rushing star Clellin Ferrell who has 12.5 tackles for loss (7.5 sacks) and continues to get after opposing QB’s. Austin Bryant is not far behind him at #2 with four on the year. Fourteen different players have recorded a sack for Clemson, as they have made life rough for other teams. They have two defensive scores, and their kickers are 58-58 on PAT’s. Wow.
Boston College Seeking Huge Upset
At 37.2 points per game, BC has done a great job of putting points up on the board. But this means nothing when you are facing a team who has seen their average win be by five scores. Anthony Brown has 1,567 yards and 16 TD’s as well as five interceptions to his name, plus a rushing TD. RB AJ Dillon has looked good as he’s got 897 yards and eight touchdowns thus far. The running game has been a big factor in the success of the Eagles this season. Defense is an area where they have been solid, but by no means impressive.
When we talk about a pass rusher destined for greatness though, we look no further than Wyatt Ray, who has recorded nine to lead this bunch. Zach Allen has 5.5, and no other player has more than three. These two guys need to pressure Lawrence a lot. Hamp Cheevers has picked off five passes.
Clemson Covers the Spread, Clinches ACC Title
As good as BC is, they really don’t stand a chance. Clemson has hardly struggled in 2018, and why would it change with so much on the line?
A monster day from Etienne on the ground with 200 yards and three scores will power the Tigers to victory!
