The NFL playoffs will kick off in Buffalo, as 6,700 fans will be permitted to watch their Bills take on the Colts. This could be the last time we see likely Hall-of-Fame QB Philip Rivers take the field. He joined Indianapolis after 16 years with the Chargers and was able to help this team to the playoffs.

The Colts have talent across the board, but their running back Jonathan Taylor may hold the keys to an upset win. It took a long time, but he has finally become the clear-cut RB1 on this team, and he has been tearing up opposing defenses. Look for him to get between 20-25 carries in this one.

Buffalo, on the other hand, was very much expected to be in the postseason. They went 13-3, winning their first AFC East title in 25 years. That is how long it’s been since a playoff game was actually played in Buffalo. It marks the second trip in three years to the postseason for Josh Allen, who hopes to guide the team to a win, and another home contest.

 ODDS:

The spread for Saturday’s playoff showdown is set at BUFFALO -6.5. The over/under is 51 points.

 Colts Looking to Pull Upset

It’s crazy that it took 11 wins just for the Colts to sneak into the playoffs. And if the format hadn’t changed for this season, they wouldn’t have even made it at all. Who would have known that the NFL adding a seventh team for each conference could make such a big difference?

Philip Rivers, for all the success he’s had in his career, has never been a great playoff QB. He has wins over the Bengals and Ravens this decade and a number of disappointing runs that ended prior to them even reaching the conference championship. This is a tremendous opportunity for him to cement his legacy as an all-timer.

Nobody is expecting the Colts to take down a red-hot Bills team. So, they have the element of surprise on their side. Play hard, try some new things, see what happens.

 Buffalo Seeks Playoff Win

None of the QB’s from the 2018 NFL Draft have won a game in the playoffs yet. But, three of them will have a crack at it this weekend. Josh Allen will get the first opportunity, before Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson, who will be taking the field for their teams on Sunday.

Allen’s connection with Stefon Diggs was one of the best QB-WR combos in the league. Very few defensive backs were able to get in the way of it. And the impressive play of Cole Beasley and rookie Gabriel Davis made a life for Allen a bit easier. Let’s not forget their stout secondary.

Having fans in the building doesn’t guarantee anything for the Bills. It will be great to see folks cheering their franchise on, but still, given the circumstances of the season, it isn’t game-changing. Can they get it done?

 Bills Moving On

The Bills will come away with a win and move on to the next round: salute, Philip.
