The National Hockey League will start Tuesday, October 10th, with the first game featuring the Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
There are three games that day, with the Chicago Blackhawks at the Penguins and the Seattle Kraken on the road at Vegas to open the season.

Edmonton Oilers +1000
Every year, when the Edmonton Oilers start the season, the question is asked: Can Connor McDavid get his championship? Is 2024 the season? The one question we DO know the answer to is that McDavid and his offensive squad in Edmonton are very difficult to defend. The Oilers and Avalanche are the favorites out of the Western Conference.
Colorado Avalanche +1000
This team still has Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen. They were able to heal many wounds in the offseason after a long Stanley Cup run the previous season. The schedule makers were not kind to them early, and injuries put them to rest a season ago. There is no reason this team does not come out as one of the top contenders to bring the cup back to Denver.
Vegas Golden Knights +1200
In the National Hockey League, we discovered that it is tough to repeat as champions. The 2017 Penguins and 2021 Lightning did it, but it is not easy. It will be interesting to see how the health of the Golden Knights holds up this season. It’s something they were able to avoid for the most part a season ago.
New York Rangers +1300
Seeing Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko in the Rangers sweaters will be fun. Head coach Peter Laviolette was hired to turn this Rangers team from a contender to a Cup winner. It will not be easy out of the Eastern Conference, but the talent is there.
Dallas Stars +1400
The Dallas Stars have quietly been to the Western Conference finals twice in the last four seasons. The Stars have great talent, with guys like Jason Robertson, Miro Heiskanen, Roope Hintz, and Jake Oettinger. They also have veterans like Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn. This is a team that, if they put everything together, could win 16 games in the playoffs.
