Keith Heine Wins $88,506 in the First RunGood Poker Series St. Louis Main Event

The first RunGood Poker Series St. Louis Main Event attracted 682 players, and it had a $484,220. Its first flight didn’t last long.

Hollywood Casino in Missouri hosted the tournament, and only 83 players advanced to the final day. Keith Heine, a local player, defied the odds when he won the $88,506 first-place prize. He stated after the tournament that he didn’t expect the win.

The poker legend’s previous best score was the $100,981 he won in a 2016 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT). He lacked experience at such final tables but remained focused on the top prize. Heine’s rail comprised his wife, parents, and close friends.

The Last Day’s Battles of the Blinds

Some of the final day’s participants who missed a seat at the final table included Angela Jordison, Grant Hinkle, Tim Garles, Craig Welko, Andreas Ioakimides, Jason “The Chisler” Simon, Forrest Kollar, Brett Slezak, and Cody Stanford. Daniel Hamm finished tenth with $8,851 after using ace-king to stake his last chips.

He lost them after Prociak used pocket aces to wake up. Hamm’s exit set up a nine-handed final table.

Walker Miskelly lost some chips before doubling up Blake O’Brien and regaining them. David Prociak, the final table stack leader doubled O’Brien and Mario Webster. Yet, he lost pots to Keith Heine and Shaun Emery.

McNeil used pocket aces to open in early position, while Emery used ace seven suited to call in a hijack. The latter made a flush draw flop before calling, and the former went all-in for a huge pot.

Emery got a crucial stack lead after a flush landed on the turn. McNeil left the table in the ninth position after his queen three suited lost to O’Brien’s pocket jacks.

Webster followed him shortly in eighth place with $11,216. Prociak urgently needed to land two outs on the river as Emery used ace-queen to look him up. Unfortunately, the former missed both outs and exited the tournament in the seventh position with $14,380.

Miskelly used pocket jacks to face O’Brien’s ace-queen. The latter used six four-suited to wager his remaining stack, and Clark held up ace-nine. Clark used ace nine to send O’Brien packing in sixth place with $18,648.

Richardson followed O’Brien in fifth place after several minutes. Miskelly used king-jack to move his stack, and Clark used ace-nine to go all-in. The board didn’t help Miskelly, and he finished fourth with $32,444.

Heine’s king six suited dominated Clark’s nine-three offsuit and busted him in third place with $43,514. Heine got the stack lead when Emery held less than five big blinds. The latter’s sevens drew dead on the turn, finishing as the runner-up with $59,006 and earning Heine the top prize.
