Opportunity Knocks for Daniel Dvoress

If you haven’t heard the name Daniel Dvoress yet, you will soon. He is one of the best tournament poker players in the world, but he has not ever participated in the World Series of Poker events in Las Vegas. So, this may be the first time you have ever seen his name typed out.

He’s racked up a whopping $15.6 million in cashes during his career (per The Hendon Mob), and he’s been a winner in both the online and live realms. Pocket Fives has him down for $2.7 million, where is regularly found to be participating in the big events.

He’s finally going to be playing in a big event, his first time in a WSOP Bracelet event, and a whopping $9 million pot. He mentioned that the current circumstances with COVID and the state of things had a massive pull in his decision. But here he is.

Dvoress Away from the Table

Usually, Dvoress is not going too hard on poker-related games in the summer, but this year has presented a special set of circumstances. This is normally a time for him when his health and fitness are front and center. The taxes are a big reason for not coming up to the US and being stationed in Toronto.

But now, here he is. With fewer opportunities to this point in 2020, Daniel’s chance to play in a major event shows those who haven’t yet heard of him what he is capable of. The nearly $16 million in earnings can speak for itself. This guy is no slouch.

He’s a huge nature guy and regularly enjoys fishing, hiking, canoeing, and even mountain biking.

His Path to This Moment

He started playing initially at his high school lunch table. He heard about online poker there, and then he began to play. He started following the EPT in 2013 after discovering more about the global scene. Hee started traveling for it, and he was told by those around him to go in with the high-rollers. And, he did.

He had racked up 26 different cashes for six figures but had never been a first-place finisher after several years. He joked about being the master of “coming in second to seventh.” And last November, that first-place finish finally came.

Dvoress picked up a $4 million win in the Super High Roller Bahamas last November. He’s said that his Poker Goals are generally long-term and that this win didn’t change any of those he had already set for himself.

WSOP Bracelet Opportunity

The top payout for the Bracelet event that Dvoress will be taking place in is just shy of $2 million. There will be over 6,300 players partaking, with the competition likely being as stiff as Dvoress has ever faced.

He knows that this is a unique opportunity, and so he’s out to win. Daniel Dvoress is going to be a household name real soon. His earnings speak volumes about how good he is at the table, and a potential win here would do a lot for his legacy.
