WSOPC Action Continues

Partypoker Introduces New Features and Improved Functions to Its Tables

The 2024 World Series of Poker schedule has been released, and there are going to be some massive events taking place throughout the summer. Poker players don’t need to wait for those events to take place though as there are some great tournaments taking place throughout the country.

The World Series of Poker Circuit is going on right now, and those tournaments are being played both online and at some of the biggest casinos in the country. The most recent action was held at the Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina, and it was Tyler Barnes that cashed in with a win at the main event.

There were other smaller events that took place at this casino, but winning the main event is going to set Barnes up for some massive success for the rest of the year. While the WSOPC action will continue throughout the year, this is only going to be a nice warmup for the actual World Series of Poker to be played in-person at points later this Spring.

A Big Win For Barnes

When Tyler Barnes agreed to enter the WSOPC Main Event, he was expected to be competing for a total prize pool of $1.5 million. That prize pool was expected to grow over time, and it ended up settling in at $2.51 million.

Barnes was able to outlast the competition at the main event to walk away with $383,856 for the biggest win of his career by a wide margin. Not only that but Barnes was awarded over 1,000 Card Player Player of the Year points and that puts him in the top 40 when looking at the overall standings.

While most poker events tend to have a clear winner at all times, that just wasn’t the case with this big event. Barnes was in the mix throughout the entire final table, but there were other players that actually had better hands for much of the day.

Some big names were competing with Barnes for this title, but some luck was involved in allowing him to pick up the win. Now that Barnes has proven that he can take down some big names, there is pressure on him to deliver at the WSOP.

A Look at the Final Standings

There were some major players at the final table of this event, and that made the win by Barnes even more impressive. One of the biggest names at the final table was Maurice Hawkins as he is a 15-time winner one the WSOP Circuit.

Hawkins appeared to be in a good position heading into the final table, but he ran into some tough luck along the way. Eventually, Hawkins finished in third place in this event and walked away with $178,000 and 720 Player of the Year points in the process.

Zachary Gilbert was the runner-up at this event, and he kept pressure on Barnes throughout the event. There were some bad hands that went against Gilbert and that was the reason that he wasn’t able to get the job done.
