Another successful Wynn Spring Classic tournament wrapped up on Monday, with all events exceeding the guaranteed prizes, due to a huge number of players who applied for them. The most important event of all was a $3,500 Championship ended with Sung Joo Hyun, and Matthias Auer made a final chop after a very entertaining final table action. As it turns out, this wasn’t the only chop in the series, as a similar thing took place in the $1,6000 No-Limit Hold’em.
The event offered $1 million in guaranteed prizes, and the two players who made it to the heads-up decided to make a chop. They were Will Joyner and Joey Weissman. After they made a deal, they decided to play it out until the end and decide on the winner of the tournament. That turned out to be Will Joyner, who managed to win $243,188 as his final prize. On the other hand, Weissman took a total of $230,090 — not much less than the winner, so he had a reason to celebrate as well.
The event attracted a total of 1,251 entries, so the starting prize pool, in the end, was $1,820,205 — much more than the guaranteed prize of $1 million. This is the biggest score that Joyner managed to land in any of the poker tournaments he took part in. As a matter of fact, all of his other cash combined aren’t as big as the amount he won at the $1,600 No-Limit Hold’em, according to his official Hendon Mob profile.
On the other hand, the second-placed Wissman has more experience, and this is his seventh six-figure cash, as he managed to amass a total of $3 million in poker earnings. His biggest win took place in 2012 when he also managed to win a gold bracelet.

The final table consisted of eight players, and the first one to hit the rail was Harry Ross from the UK, who managed to win a total of $34,906. After that, it was time for Dorian Rios Pavon to say goodbye to the final table, winning $42,059 as his prize.
The sixth-place belonged to Wagner Wysotchnski, who managed to earn $52,380, and he was followed by Maziar Keshavarzi for $67,178.
The fourth-place belonged to Kenny Huynh, who earned $90,877. Daniel Moran was the only other non-US player, with his residence also being the United Kingdom. He was the last player to hit the rail before the heads-up, winning a total of $128,374. As soon as he hit the rail, Joey Weissmann and Will Joyner started to duel for the final prize. Will Joyner managed to come out ahead, pocketing a cool $243,188 prize and 960 POY points.
