Thirty-Two Players Remain in World Series of Poker Europe

WSOPE Betfair Only a few top named players remain at the close of day four of the first ever, 2007 World Series of Poker Europe(WSOPE). Just like a scene from the Las Vegas World Series, the stars were out for the big event, all the biggest names, and richest world renown poker players showed, though not many lasted very long. A giant blow came to the top poker players when Daniel Negreanu was eliminated.

Daniel lost most of his chips to Janne Lamsa when Lamsa drew a flush against him. “Poker is easy when you’re short stacked, I don’t care either way what you do” Negreanu stated. Daniel went all in later against Lamsa with Ace spades and Queen clubs with Lamsa with King clubs and Queen spades. Daniel went to the flop in the lead. The turn came with no help for either player.

Then the river as it often does, changed the game in a big way, a King of hearts came on the river pairing up Lamsa’s King and leaving him to take the pot. Leaving Negreanu with the best starting hand, and a decent bad beat story to take home with him.

Kenny Tran, Annie Duke, and Gus Hansen are still in the present at this years WSOPE, in fact finishes the day in fourth place with a 405,000 chip count. Aleksander Vathne is currently holds the chip lead with 470,000 followed very closely by Theo Jorgensen at 457,000. In third place is Dominic Kay with 430,500 chips. The action will continue today and will come to a close on Sunday at the WSOPE final table where a new star could be born, or an old pro could make history, either way, the first ever World Series of Poker Europe victory will be won.
