Las Vegas Horseshoe Hotel and Casino hosted the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) main event on February 22. Bin Weng, a Philadelphia resident, defeated Alex Foxen in heads-up action to win his first WSOP Circuit ring and $227,344.
The poker pro started 2023 on a high note after bagging $1 million in The Return Poker Championship in January at the Borgata Hotel and Casino. The Hendon Mob indicates that he has $3,150,682 in career earnings. Still, he has 2,880 points and is second in the Card Player Player of the Year (POY) standings.
Even so, 833 entrants signed up for the recent $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold ’em event and created a $1,261,995 prize pool. It featured three starting flights, and its top 125 players won at least $2,559 in prize money each.
Some of those who cashed included Aditya Prasetyo, Ryan Laplante, Chino Rheen, Michael Rossitto, Justin Pechie, Trung Nguyen, James Collopy, David Jackson, Brian Yoon, Anthony Spinella, and Qing Liu. But, 154 entrants advanced to Day 2 and they later reduced to 14 on the final day.

What Transpired on the Tournament’s Final Day?
The final table’s action kicked off fast, as five players got busted in the first hour. Aaron, Massey, Jared Jaffee, and Nick Pupillo exited the tournament in ninth, eighth, and seventh place, respectively.
The table’s longest action was four-handed play, and it extended almost up to midnight. But, the winner was found after two hands of the heads-up match between Foxen and Weng.
Foxen used KClub Suit5Diamond Suit from the hole to move all-in on an 8Diamond Suit5Heart Suit4Club SuitASpade SuitKDiamond Suit board in the final hand, and Weng used 7Spade Suit6Spade Suit to make a cover-up call for a flopped straight. The latter sent the former packing with a $140,512 consolation prize.
Weng informed WSOPC journalists after his latest victory that the tournament had a huge impact on his poker career since he has never won a WSOP title despite winning four other events. Also, he got his first WSOPC ring in the event, which excited him and left him speechless.
Alex Foxen inspires Weng, and both of them live in Long Island. The latter was glad to compete with the former as he is among the best poker players.
Foxen’s runner-up finish increased his poker career earnings to more than $28 million. Yet, he has 1,726 points and is 14th in the Card Player POY standings.
He stunned his supporters in 2017 when he held the 19th position in the POY standings. The pro has finished among the top 10 players in the race in five consecutive years, his lowest being an eighth-place finish in the 2020 race.
Foxen has held the fourth position in the last two years. Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina is hosting the ongoing WSOP Circuit event that will end on February 27. Still, the $1,700 buy-in main event will begin today and poker die-hards can get its live updates from various poker sites.
