As everyone is leaving the season cocoons and embracing the light of 2022, poker players are getting ready to shuffle up and deal. With live poker tournaments scheduled to kick off before the month ends, poker enthusiasts are prepared to embark on playing.
However, poker tournament organizers seem to cross their fingers, hoping that nothing will change. Currently, the omicron variant of COVID-19 is causing many new cases, hospitalization, and even more deaths in the United States. The daily record of new cases was once nearly one million this week.
If the spread of the virus does not slow soon, playing live poker might remain a dream. However, we are still optimistic that nothing will stop poker games. The World Series of Poker Circuit began on January 5, 2022. The tourney will run through Tuesday, January 18.
It is a series of 13 ring events, senior and ladies events. The last match of the tourney will be at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma.
