Team Maria Ho Wins $200,000 in WSOP 25K Fantasy League

The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has favored Maria Ho on the felt. Still, her opponents’ performance greatly contributed to her success in the summer rather than her effort.

Ho is a PokerGO commentator. She recently won $200,000 in the $25,000 WSOP Fantasy League featuring 14 teams. Daniel Negreanu finished second and won $100,000 despite losing more than $1.1 million in WSOP.

Brent Hanks and Jeff Platt created Team No Gamble No Future which is a PokerGO squad. They finished thirds and won $50,000 in the $350,000 pot. Each of the 11 remaining poker teams lost $25,000 and some of them almost missed earning money.

The Best Team in the League

Team Maria Ho amassed 1,140 points and is the second team to ever surpass the 1,000-point mark in the league’s history. Koray Aldemir, the 2021 WSOP Main Event winner, greatly influenced the outcome as he garnered 358 points in the league. Ho got some points from five of his top 11 finishes in this summer’s bracelet tournaments together with 14 cashes.

Marco Johnson was Ho’s second-best performer among her eight drafted players with 233 points. She added Joao Viera, Felipe Ramos, Craig Chait, John Hennigan, and Jim Collopy to her team.

The 14 teams participated in a live draft before the WSOP to bid on certain players according to their perceived value. Each team was allowed to spend $200 on eight players.

Dan Zack Is the Second-Best Point Earner

Negreanu and Shaun Deeb were some of the most experienced WSOP Player of the Year (POY) contenders. Still, they were among the players with the highest value in the live bidding. But, Negreanu failed to advance to the final table during a live bracelet event and earned Team No Gamble No Future 125 points only.

This was despite going for $111 in the bid. He earned the PokerGO squad fewer points than they had expected from him.
Deen was a perfect choice for Team Dan Shak despite being worth $110, as he scored 281 points for the. Phil Ivey amassed 258 points and was worth $33.the other players in Shak’s roster offered little help thus making him finish fourth.

Dan Zack won the 2022 WSOP POY award and was the 25K Fantasy League’s second highest valued selection after Aldemir in the draft. He qualified for two extra final tables in summer and won two WSOP bracelets. The poker pro earned 351 points for Team Mojave’s Balls but couldn’t help it win money with his teammates’ support.

Teams playing in the league normally accumulate points according to how the players they choose in the draft perform in WSOP. Players with deep runs tend to amass more points and a bracelet is worth 50 points.
