Shane Lynch Signs with Ladbrokes Poker

It was recently announced that Shane Lynch of popular singing group Boyzone has joined with Ladbrokes Poker. Lynch is the latest player to sign with the online poker room and he is excited to become part of the organization.

Lynch will be part of Ladbrokes for one year as his contract is not up until March 2011. Lynch will be sponsored by Ladbrokes to compete in events around the world. Lynch has stated he is excited about trying the game of poker and he will be working as a role model for beginner players.

It was back in 2008 that Lynch competed in his first big tournament. Lynch substituted for Ronan Keating in the Ladbrokes Irish Poker Festival and this gave him his first taste of the poker world. Lynch’s deal with Ladbrokes will see him competing in live tournaments as well as living the VIP poker life style. He will also be competing in the upcoming World Series of Poker while representing the online poker room.

Ladbrokes has stated that if Lynch does well and finishes in the top 100 then they will give a cash donation to the charity of Shane’s choice. Lynch commented on his foray into the poker industry by stating: “I’d always been a bit intimidated by the poker scene; I’d seen it on TV and found the whole thing a bit baffling. But having spent time with the Ladbrokes players at a few events last year, I’ve seen that you don’t need to be an expert to give it a go. I’m really looking forward to getting into this poker journey, learning more and having some great fun along the way.”
