PokerStars confirmed that PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) will proceed as planned in January 2023. It has been three years since the last edition.
Also, the renowned poker provider confirmed that the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) will return and run alongside the PCA.
The PSPC will be a $25,000 buy-in event that will resemble the first installment. PokerStars set its date after canceling and postponing the 2020 PSPC beyond 2021. The PCA will occur between January 22 and February 3, 2023, while the PSPC will be from January 30 to February 3.
Severin Rasset, PokerStars’ Managing Director and Commercial Officer, said that the online poker cardroom has missed live events just like players did, and it was thrilled to announce next year’s PokerStars Players Championship.
He added that it will be at a beautiful location with hundreds of entrants and millions to win. Also, PSPC will offer many players a lifetime experience.
PokerStars Welcomes the PCA
The PCA was discontinued in September 2019, but it has returned to the poker calendar as it will take place from late January to early February 2023 at the Baha Mar Hotel and Resort, Nassau.
The resort has high-end hotel accommodation, fine-dining restaurants, and many bars. Thus, players can relax as they soak up the Caribbean’s sun.
Even so, the PCA’s schedule has been finalized. It will have a $10,300 buy-in Main Event. Bettors with huge bankrolls can compete in the championship as many events will need them to wager a few hundred dollars.
Chino Rheem Won the 2019 PCA Main Event
Chino Rheem topped the 2019 PCA Main Event after showing a dominant display from the beginning and defeating Daniel Strelitz. The event had 865 entrants who created an $8,390,500 pool, and Rheem won $1,567,100.
Scott Wellenbach produced a heartwarming story in the 2019 PCA after he advanced to the Main Event with $500. He had pledged to donate his cash prize to charity. Yet, the Canadian poker pro made a deep run and won $671,000 after finishing third and donated $600,000.
The PSPC Returns
The PSPC was a distinct poker event that combined satellite winners and Platinum Pass qualifiers with $25,000 high-roller players. Ramon Colillas, PokerStars Ambassador, won the event and received $5.1 million.
The event was supposed to return in 2020 in Barcelona. But, it was postponed to 2021 and later canceled in the 2021 spring. Rasset expressed his commitment to the event and said that the PSPC would resume once the situation allows.
The PSPC Platinum Pass
There is a high likelihood that the 2023 event will be the biggest as it will have many Platinum Passes. A Platinum Pass package will have a $25,000 buy-in and will be worth $30,000. Besides, the event will have 400 Platinum Pass contenders.
A 2023 Platinum Pass will constitute the following:
- Airport transfer
- A guest in a 5-star hotel and six winter nights hotel accommodation
- A $25,000 PSPC buy-in
- Platinum Pass Winner experience
- $1,900 money for expenses
