“Poker After Dark” Returns Next Week

Popular poker show Poker After Dark is set to return to air next week, beginning on June 4. The popular NBC show recently spoke with PokerNews.com and stated that during the month of June, the show will air with never before seen footage. The lost episodes will run for two weeks and poker fans will be able to watch as their favorite players duke it out at the felt.

The first episode will air on June 4th at 12:00 AM EDT and will feature a $200,000 buy-in cash game. Players included in the lineup of the first episode are: Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Eli Elezra, David Peat and David Oppenheim. The footage of this game was filmed in 2010 and was set to air in 2011 but the show was cancelled.

NBC decided to cancel the show after the incidents following Black Friday and now they have decided to bring back the show. Every day, next week, NBC will be airing an episode of Poker After Dark the following week, another week of shows will be featured. Below is a complete schedule:

Tuesday, June 5 @ 12:00 a.m. ET

Wednesday, June 6 @ 12:30 a.m. ET

Thursday, June 7 @ 12:00 a.m. ET

Saturday, June 9 (Director’s Cut) @ 1:30 a.m. ET

Week 2: Monday, June 11-Friday, June 15 @ 12:00 a.m. ET

Saturday, June 16 (Director’s Cut) @ 2:00 a.m. ET

Poker News also reported that they spoke with Mori Eskandani of POKER PROductions earlier this year and he stated that he believes a lot of the poker shows will be coming back on air, within the next year or so. Eskandani went on to tell the poker news source that there is about a 90% chance that the popular NBC National Heads Up Championship will be back next year, which is great news to poker fans!
