PokerStars has recently made an announcement of the new stop in the European Poker Tour which will happen in Sochi, Russia and will bear the name EPT Open Sochi. The whole event will happen between 21st and 29th of September and the player who wins the EPT Open Sochi Main Event will have several awards apart from cash. One of the most valuable awards will be a $30,000 Platinum Pass that will grant entrance to the PokerStars Players Championship which will happen at the beginning of 2019.

The final dates for all the events that will take place in the EPT Open Sochi will be announced soon. On the other hand, the dates for the Main Event and High Roller are already announced.
The Main Event at EPT Open Sochi will start on 25th of September and will last until 29th. A buy-in for the main event is RUB 132,000, which is approximately $2,125. The prize pool projected for the main event is $1 million which is RUB 60,000,000.
The EPT Open Sochi High Roller event will happen during the last two days of the tournament – on 28th and 29th of September and the buy-in for it will be RUB 258,000 (around $4,150). This is actually the second time that Sochi hosts one such event. The first European Poker Tour visit to Sochi happened last year and it lasted also for nine days in March. The main star of the event was Arsenii Karmatickii who went on to defeat 861 entrants and managed to bank a total of RUB 27,300,000 (approximately $478,451). The final table on which he played had mostly players from Russia and an Armenian player.
About the Platinum Passes and PokerStars Player Championship
Every Platinum Pass award is worth $30,000 and they are basically an entrance and a seat to a prestigious championship in the Bahamas that is called $25,000 PokerStars Players Championship. The pass also includes the luxurious accommodation at Atlantis Resort and the covered costs of food and travel up to $2000. According to PokerStars, it will be the greatest PSPC ever run by them.
