Online WSOP Events #16, 17, and 18 — A Brief Overview

The 2020 World Series of Poker has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the summer is still filled with great WSOP events that take place on the web. More than 18 events already wrapped up, and there are still dozens to go, as the entire month of August will be packed with WSOP events on the web. Let’s check out some of the action that took place during the last couple of days.

Terrell Cheatham Wins Event #16: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo

Event #16 took place last Thursday night, and it attracted a total of 1,044 players. On top of that, 484 rebuys were recorded, resulting in a field of 1,528 entries who created the prize pool of $687,600.

The event did not last for a very long time — approximately 7.5 hours, and it was Terrell “Heezahustla” Cheatham who won the event, receiving the prize of $116,206. Apart from that, he managed to win a gold bracelet.

The Akron, Ohio player currently lives in Vegas and only managed to record $24,836 in live tournament earnings, as stated in his Hendon Mob page. His best career win prior to this WSOP event was $7,880 that he won in a WSOP Daily Deepstack event that took place in 2014.

Event #17 took place one day after Event #16, and it attracted 917 unique players and 465 rebuys, resulting in a field filled with 1,382 entries. The prize pool for this event was $967,400, and the player who took the lion’s share was Pay “IchiiKawawa” Lyons. He won a total of $173,551, along with a WSOP gold bracelet.
