The state of New Jersey continues to do well when it comes to online gaming earnings each and every month. New Jersey is one of just three states in the US that offers online gambling options, and one of only two that provides both casino and poker game play via the internet. There are several operators in the state that offer such services with the Golden Nugget earning the first place position as far as revenues are concerned, taking the number one spot two months in a row.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released the totals for October which showed $16.7 million earned for the month. This was a 29.6% increase when compared to October earnings in 2015. October actually earned around $500,000 more than what was generated in September.
The gains for the month were largely contributed to casino gaming, which was up just over 30% with earnings of $14.3 million. Online poker saw a gain as well with $2.4 million earned, an increase of 24.9%. When looking at year to date totals, the state has been able to generate $161.1 million which could set the state up for record earnings for the year.
The Golden Nugget was the top performer, bringing in $4.1 million for the month which was much higher than the $3.66 million earned in September. It is important to note that the Golden Nugget does not operate online poker gaming and is strictly casino only, which makes the numbers that much more impressive.
The Borgata was able to see $3.67 million in October earnings of which $734,000 came from poker and $2.93 million from casino gaming. The Tropicana came in at a little over $3.1 million while Caesars Interactive Entertainment earned $3.05 million.
PokerStars, which operates under Resorts Digital Gaming licensing, was able to earn $2.74 million which is much higher than September’s earnings of $744,000. The New Jersey Championship of Online Poker was quite successful for PokerStars and helped to elevate the earnings for October.
