Nevada Online Poker Revenues Increase due to WSOP

nevada-online-poker-billsAccording to recent figures released by the Gaming Control Board of Nevada, the state has seen an increase in overall gaming revenues in May. The state was able to earn $970.3 million for the month of May, which was just over 8% more than the same month in 2013. Online poker provided $862,000 of the number and this was an increase of 8.8% from April, showing the WSOP was able to bring in more online poker players to the WSOP website.

The 2014 World Series of Poker was a bit different this year as it kicked off, with the ability for players to take part in online gaming at WSOP.com. This year’s series promoted the online poker gaming, including an area at the Rio for online gaming. Players were able to compete online at the WSOP site in both Nevada and New Jersey to earn seats to various WSOP events. The many different gaming options worked and provided additional revenues for the state in the category of online poker gaming. The revenues for May created the second highest totals for the year.

Players stuck mainly to the WSOP website, instead of visiting the two other operators and PokerScout is showing the site at an average of around 140 players during a seven day time frame. The two other providers, Real Gaming and Ultimate Poker have seen no traffic or small numbers in the same time frame.

The World Series of Poker is still ongoing so professional players as well as amateurs are still in the Las Vegas area taking part in events. The Main Event has yet to kick off so there is still time for visiting players to be able to compete in online game play. To take part in online poker in Nevada, players must be located within the borders. So while the WSOP is ongoing, players are sure to check out the sites, with the WSOP being the top choice.
