Justin Bonomo wins $100k High Roller to Reclaim Top Spot on All-Time Money List

Justin Bonomo has headlined the poker news several times. His latest headline came through after he played the $100,000 High Roller match among other 18 players at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Five Diamond Poker Classic. Justin took the win at the Bellagio, allowing him to repossess his top spot on the Hendon Mob all-time money list.

Bonomo’s lives to remember 2018 as the year he topped the World Series of Poker Big One for $10 million, taking the first spot on the all-time live tournament list. Effectively, he overtook Daniel Negreanu, who possessed the top spot for years.

Unfortunately, Bonomo’s win was short-lived. In 2019, Bryn Kenney took the crown from Bonomo, becoming the new all-time live cash winner following his runner-up win of the historic £1.05 million Triton Million in London. Bryn pocketed £16,890,509 ($20,563,324), the highest prize money ever awarded to a single player in a poker game.

Following his win at the Bellagio, Justin’s total earnings from live games increased to $57,047,262. Kenney closely follows with $56,907,381 making the difference in earning between the two $140,000.

However, Bonomo might expand the difference if he plays deep runs during tournaments. He is likely to close the year with over $3.7 million from matches.

Kenney Also Played the $100k High Roller

Kenney also played the $100,000 High Roller that Bonomo won. The two played a crucial hand which prompted Bonomo to go all-in with AdAc while Kenney called with QcQs.

Kenney was ahead of the flop of Qd6d2d, while Bonomo did not get any help with the 9s on the turn. Fortunately, Kd on the river favored Bonomo, leading to the player winning the hand. Other pro players in this event included Jason Koon, who came in second with 4667,800, and Dan Smith, who pocketed $304,000.

Bonomo Eyes the Poker Hall of Fame

The 36-year-old achievement in the poker industry qualifies him for the Poker Hall of Fame. However, he cannot be nominated until he is 40 years old.

Bonomo came into the limelight in 2018 after winning ten tournaments and cashing in 24 times totaling $25 million in one year. His win began from the first month of the year when he became runners-up during the $99,700 plus $300 #1 NLH Super High Roller during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Bonomo won two Super High Roller Bowls in Las Vegas and China and two WSOP bracelets during the same year. Other major tournaments that Bonomo came out strong include partypoker LIVE Caribbean Poker Party, Aria high rollers, US Poker Open, WPT, and European Poker Tour in 2018.

There is no doubt that Bonomo is a successful player from his achievements, especially in the high roller circuits. He has continued to add up to this success this year. For instance, in September, Bonomo finished second in the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl in Las Vegas.

He also scored another second position in the $50,000 NLH High Roller during the 2021 WSOP, not forgetting the money he made at the Aria High Roller Series the last few months. Besides the incredible performance at live tournaments, Bonomo has several wins from playing online poker using the screen name “ZeeJustin.”
