Bianca Rojas-Latraverse is the woman accused of plotting the home invasion which took place at poker pro Jonathan Duhamel’s home. Rojas-Latraverse is the ex-girlfriend of Duhamel and her trial for the December home invasion has now been delayed for medical reasons, according to a recent report by the Montreal Gazette.
The court date for Rojas-Latraverse was set for Friday morning but the attorney representing the woman stated that she was involved in an accident and medical attention was needed. The Gazette reported that prosecutor, Nancy Delorme, was informed that an incident of violent nature took place and when Rojas-Latraverse appeared in court, marks were clearly seen on her face.
As Rojas-Latraverse appeared in court, she pulled her hair toward her face to try and hide the marks. The judge presiding was Quebec Court Judge Anne Marie Jacques and she decided to postpone the start of the trial for the following Monday.
The trial stems from the December 21st incident when two men, acting as deliverymen, arrived at Duhamel’s home and assaulted the poker pro. The pro was tied up in his condo, beaten and then robbed. The two men were able to take $40,000 Cdn, 74,000 Euros, a Rolex and the championship bracelet that Duhamel won in 2010, which was worth $40,000. The majority of the items stolen were later returned and Rojas-Latraverse was arrested just a few days later.
Rojas-Latraverse now faces several charges including robbery, breaking and entering, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy. The other two men involved in the attack will go to trial separately. Both Anthony Bourque, 20 and John Stephen Clark Lemay, 23, had their court dates for Monday and they will be formality hearings. The full case for both men will be scheduled at a later date.
Another man involved in the case, Andre Robert Perron, has been charged for possessing the stolen Rolex. Perron was supposed to appear in court in front of Jacques this past Friday but he did not show up. His case has now been pushed back.
