Isaac Haxton stuns his supporters whenever he competes in high-roller poker tournaments since January. He is leading in the U.S. Poker Open (USPO) with four titles, 10 final table finishes, and $5.1 million in tournament earnings.
Haxton topped a 54-entry field in the 2023 USPO $25,000 buy-in no-limit Hold’em tournament and won $432,000. He has almost $37 million in poker career earnings and is 12th on the all-time money list. Also, the poker pro has 3,752 Card Player Player of the Year (POY) points and is second in the 2023 POY race.
He is fourth in the PokerGO Tour (PGT) season points race after winning two titles and cashing over $1.1 million in three PGT tournaments.
PokerGO Studio hosted the latest tournament. It lasted for two days and had a $1,350,000 prize pool.
Cary Katz busted the money bubble on Day 1 after Dan Smith’s K-Q outran his A-K. Masashi Oya finished eighth and Chris Brewer in seventh place as the remaining six players advanced to Day 2.

How Did Things Unfold on the Final Day?
Smith was the chip leader early on Day 2. Alex Foxen was the short stack and he used Q-4 to move all-in against Phil Hellmuth’s A-K.
The former didn’t get help and left the table in the sixth position. Hellmuth followed him in fifth place after using A-Q to call all-in from the small blind against Smith’s Q-7.
Smith used a pair of sevens on the turn to get the lead, which he maintained through the river. Bill Klein’s run ended in fourth place after Haxton’s pocket tens defeated his A-4 suited. A jack-high runout didn’t help Klein and he exited the tournament.
Three-handed action featuring Haxton, Joey Weissman, and Dan Smith lasted for almost two hours. Haxton’s 6Spade Suit6Heart Suit dominated Smith’s 2Spade Suit2Heart Suit. The former got the pot and superior flush after four spades landed on the board, sending Smith packing in third place with $189,000.
Smith’s elimination set up heads-up play between Weissman and Haxton, who had a 6,775,000:1,325,000 chip advantage. Weissman’s flush defeated Haxton’s pocket aces and earned them a pot.
Haxton maintained his chip lead before the dealer dealt the tournament’s last hand. Weissman used QHeart Suit10Diamond Suit to make a button limp, and Haxton used AHeart Suit4Heart Suit to check. The flop revealed JDiamond Suit6Heart Suit6Heart Suit as Haxton checked Weissman.
The QClub Suit on the turn earned Weissman a top pair, and the 8Heart Suit on the river completed Haxton’s flush. Weissman called while Haxton’s nut flush earned him the title and pot. The latter finished second with $283,500.
