Irish Poker Open 2008 forcasted to make European poker history

Established in 1981, the annual Irish Poker Open in Dublin has an extensive and storied life.

As Europe’s longest running poker tournament, it’s seen more than its fair share of big names walk through the doors to compete at the tables.

Among them are WSOP World Champions Dan Harrington and Carlos Mortensen.

2007’s tournament, for a fleeting moment, became Europe’s largest ever – a record breaking field of 708 players headed to Dublin to sample some of that storied past and unique atmosphere and compete for over €2.3 million in prize money.

Some of the more recognized names from this years event include Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Antonio Esfandiari, Dave Ulliott, Andy Black, Padraig Parkinson, Ram Vaswani and Eddie Scharf, just to point out a few names.

So how do you build on such an enduring legacy for the 2008 Irish Poker Open?
