GamCare and eCOGRA teamed up to create an intense two day training course for online casino managers. The course was created to educate the managers on the principles of responsible gaming and how to help and identify problem gamblers.
During the two day period, several lectures took place as well as interactive training courses and case history studies. The interactive courses were held by officials from GamCare, a UK based problem gambling charity. The course covered the requirements that are now in place that the eCOGRA casinos must now use. eCOGRA’s Safe and Fair sealed venues adhere to the principles used for handling the gambling problems.
Bill Galston, eCOGRA Independent Director and the former UK Gaming Board Chief Inspector stated that a comprehensive responsible gambling policy is a critical investment for any online operation for both humanitarian and ethical reasons. He also stated that a responsible gaming policy could help correct the adverse misperceptions made by some people.
