Just last week, the c5 Us Online Gambling Forum took place in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, with informative details about the future of online gaming in the US. Everyone who is involved in the US online gambling industry was in attendance as the focus of this year’s forum was the regulated online gambling market in the United States. Several points were covered during the event, and there seems to be progress coming when it comes to issues faced during the initial operations of online poker and casino gaming.
Payment processing has been a struggle with online gaming in the US, especially in New Jersey. Casino and poker gaming should become a little easier in the future as new payment processing plans are underway. According to OnlinePokerReport, PayPal should be offering a trial run in the state before 2014 ends and should launch fully in 2015. That is, if the trial goes well. The state also plans on continuing to work with banks and the government on a federal level to increase comfort levels for processing payments for online gambling in regulated states.
Geolocation is another sore subject when it comes to online gaming in the States. In Nevada and New Jersey specifically, players have had difficulty being recognized by geolocation software. The geolocation issues have prevented players from logging on and even knocking them offline during game play, though improvements have been made this year to help the process along.
During the forum, several points were made about geolocation service including the companies that provide such services are working to use additional data sources to refine the option. Wireless carriers are also supposed to be working to have a more active interest in seeing the geolocation technology succeed by becoming more understanding of the process.
Also covered during the forums was the interstate gaming between Nevada and Delaware. The two states are currently testing technicalities of the option and expect a launch early next year. New Jersey has been thrown into the mix as they are discussing interstate play with Nevada and are also having preliminary discussions in the UK.
