Full Tilt Remission Process Continues; Payments Expected by 2014

doj-logoThe Full Tilt Poker remission process has been a long and exhausting journey for former US players of the site. Everyone in the poker industry has followed the process and a new update was recently released via the Poker Players Alliance on popular poker forum TwoPlusTwo. According to the update by Rich Muny, the Vice President of Player Relations, the remission checks will begin to be sent out by the first quarter of 2014.

Former Full Tilt players still have a few days to file a claim for payment and according to recent reports; those players who have undisputed claims should begin receiving checks during the first portion of 2014. Muny posted on the forum that remission checks for ‘uncontested balances’ should be expected to be released by the end of the first quarter of 2014. However, the term ‘optimistically’ is thrown in so you never know the payments may take place then or there may be a delay.

Word has yet to be released on what will happen to disputed claims and how long this process will take but one can assume that more time is needed to be able to investigate the claims that do not coincide with the information that the Garden City Group has with their records. The Garden City Group has regularly updated the Full Tilt Poker Claims site so players can stay informed of the process but the latest update was close to three weeks ago.

The PPA has stayed very involved with the process and a conference call recently took place between the PPA and the Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section earlier this week and more information has been released due to this call. The DOJ group stated: “80% of those with petition and control numbers accepted the balance provided and that roughly 35,000 claims have been filed.”

Affiliates are still waiting to see what will happen to their accounts and now information has come forward that Red Pros may be able to claim funds as well. Marco Valerio recently tweeted that the DOJ is reconsidering their former decision to exclude FTP Red Pros from the remission process, according to information Valerio says came from Rich Muny.

The process continues and players have until the 16th of November to file a claim at the FullTiltPokerClaims.com website.
