Action on the Final Day

The final day had cagey opening exchanges as all teams didn’t want to be eliminated first. Team Paggeaot was the chip leader and it prolonged it in an exchange with Team Kraemer. The latter ran nines into jacks and lost to Kerstetter.

Leonard got a crucial double several minutes later after an action-packed start before Kerstetter sent Franco Spitale to the rail. Team Tsugaru and Team Leonard faced each other behind Team Paggeot. But, Tsugaro blinked first and Paggeot sent both of them home when they rivered a pair.

Team Kerstetter got a big stack lead over Team Leonard. Yet, things changed through Paggeot for Jorstad after two doubles. The lead changed hands several despite rising blinds and Jorstad got a significant stack lead as he tagged Leonard who later closed it out for Jorstad and his first WSOP bracelets.

How the Winners Reacted

Jorstad and Leonard agreed to be tag team partners after they read an Instagram post together. Jorstad played throughout Day 1 and Leonard stated that he believes in him. The former praised the latter after several strange plays in the middle of the tournament.

Jorstad said that Leonard made weird changes like folding tens in a three-bet when his opponent revealed aces. The latter folded jacks when an opponent showed queens and the former had some hope that they would win the championship. Leonard stated that being fresh was a huge advantage for both of them as they divided time playing at the table thus helping them be alert on the final table.

Leonard stated that many players opted to go solo in the past several days. Some of them played alone for four days but he agreed with his partner to play 50:50. Each of them took a few hours in and out.

The Team Leonard member studied his opponents when he was out and changed some tactics when he returned to the table. His team was ready to grind hard in the championship as two coolers favored them. Jorstad made a five-bet and shoved an ace-jack in a crucial hand that gave them a big chip lead as he tagged in Leonard to their victory.
