PokerStars held the Sunday Million on June 5 and it formed part of its KO Week. So, the poker operator changed its format to that of a progressive knockout event. It caught the attention of many poker diehards even though PokerStars wasn’t certain whether the change would adversely affect its client base.
Canyoh is one of the players who enjoyed the format change as he beat 9,956 opponents. He won $81,104 including a $22,956 bounty prize pool.

The Final Table’s Action
Jurezz had the fewest stack when action at the nine-handed final table started. He made 9.5 big blinds open-shove using pocket sizes. Unfortunately, amario75’s aces beat them thus eliminating him in ninth place.
Pablo Roman was the next player to leave the table. An open-ended straight draw outdrew his second pair thus sending him home with $9,580. Also, he was the last player to get a four-figure prize.
Veemer finished seventh and won $11,861 while Marcos Epa left the table in sixth position with $17,850. Ivan Luca, a high-stakes expert got busted in fifth place and received $24,178.
amario75 was eliminated after Luca. He got his chips into the middle with ace-king while Canyoh placed pocket kings in a hole and eliminated him. Canyoh retained his hand and had the most chips than the other two remaining players.
Even so, he improved his table position after adding Vladk307’s chips to his stack. The latter’s king-jack lost to the former’s nine-six. Canyoh grounded Vladk307 and got a 12:1 lead before the final hand.
Sorjak called off his four big blinds using king-five and Canyoh set them in. The latter flopped an ace-ten and a king appeared on the turn.
Canyoh got a straight and won the Sunday Million thus receiving $81,104. Sorjak finished as the runners-up and went home with $62,785.
Sunday Million Is Now PKO Permanently
PokerStars will transform Sunday Million to PKO on June 12. But it has been a PKO several times with temporary bounties. Besides changing the format, the poker operator will set eight-handed tables instead of the ones with nine players, and raise starting stacks to 50,000 as each player holds 200 big blinds. Blinds levels will last for 15 minutes until late registration ends, blinds on Day 12 will last for 12 minutes and the final table will have an extra time bank.
Different satellites that will feed into the Sunday Million PKO are ready. They will start at $1.10 and later rise to $22. Even so, an $11 buy-in Sunday Million satellite will take place on June 12 from 5:05 p.m. BST.
