Bryn Kenney — The New Leader On All-Time Money List

After finishing second in the £1,050,000 Triton Million event, which was sponsored by partypoker LIVE, Bryn Kenny officially became the highest-earning poker player, dethroning Justin Bonomo by far. In fact, at only 32 years of age, Kenney broke a Guinness record and now has a bit more than $55 million earned just from playing live poker tournaments.

The sum of money which he earned in the Triton Poker event was £16,890,509, which is roughly $20,563,324. Although he finished second, he won the most money as he and Aaron Zang, who won the event, made a deal at the start of heads-up play.

Earning $20 million in a single day is not a small thing to do, and Kenney has definitely raised the bar when it comes to playing poker professionally. Kenney earned a total of $29.8 million in 2019. After winning the Triton Poker event, he was leading by $10 million in comparison to Bonomo’s second place on the all-time money list. Nevertheless, Bonomo soon won the £100,000 Short Deck Main Event, earning a total of £2,670,000 and lowering the difference between the two players to approximately $7 million.

Bryn’s Beginnings

Kenney was not passionate about poker from the start. In fact, his first passion in life was a game called Magic: The Gathering. However, he soon switched his attention to something with less fantasy in it, and that was poker. He made some great results at the start of his career and decided to go pro.

He was playing online poker on a regular basis and did not take long to become a high roller famous among online poker players. He has gained a lot of attention and a lot of fans as well. However, many people simply cannot stand the sight of him. He is one of those people that you either love or hate — nobody is indifferent when it comes to this interesting person and a master poker player.

Soon, Kenney became the favorite among interviewers, as he was always ready to talk long, and willing to dive deep into the game. In other words, Kenney is a poker rock-star, and it seems that it was just a matter of time when he would become No. 1 on the all-time money list.

According to his Hendon Mob profile, Kenney made his first cash back in 2007 when he was just 21 years old. It was in an event that took place at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino, and Kenney ended up runner-up, winning a total of $34,446. Only three years later, Kenney started making six-figure scores, the first one being in the 2010 WSOP when he ended up in eighth place in the $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed tournament, earning a total of $141,168.
