Bin Weng is in great form of late as he recently reached two final tables at the World Poker Tour (WPT) main events having the largest stacks. The Philadelphia player won the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $3,500 buy-in main event. He took home $1,128,250 and his first WPT title after beating 2,289 entrants.
Weng informed WPT journalists after the event that he has always aspired to win a WPT title since he became a professional poker player in 2019. So, the victory inspired him a lot after battling it out for five hours. Yet, he will compete for a $400,740 first-place prize and title in the WPT Choctaw Main Event.
The poker pro amassed 1,620 Card Player Player of the Year (POY) points from the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown main event. It was his seventh final table to qualify and his third title to win this year. Statistics show that he has over $2.5 million in POY earnings now.

The Final Table’s Highlights
Rafael Farah used pocket jacks to move all-in and dominated Weng’s pocket threes. But tables turned after a three landed on the flop, increasing Weng’s chips and sending Farah packing in sixth place.
Naing Thu left the table in the fifth position after using A-4 to make a three-bet shove over Weng’s small blind open. The latter used A-Q to call and put Thu in a tough spot.
Weng got queens full of aces that widened his chip lead and busted Thu. David Mzareulov used K8 to make an under-the-gun open-shove of 11 big blinds and Weng used 77 to make a small blind isolation. 766 landed on the flop earning Weng a better winning probability for the hand and sevens full.
J landed on the turn making Mzareulov draw dead in fourth place with $413,000. Mitch Garshofsky had less than 13 big blinds and used 65 to make a button shove before Weng called and got AQ from the big blind.
AJ8510 appeared on the board giving Weng a queen kicker and top pair. Garshofsky exited the event in third place and increased his total poker earnings to over $2.4 million.
Weng clashed with Sangannagari in a tough match having a 4:1 chip advantage. The latter semi-fluffed the former using an ace-high flush to draw off an ace-high flush. Sangannagari won a huge pot after calling Weng’s river bluff and getting an almost 8:3 chip lead.
Even so, Weng used pocket sevens to flop the middle set after making a raise limp-call from the button. But, Sangannagari covered him in their battle’s most crucial hand. Weng’s K9 beat his J3 sending him packing as a runner-up with $745,000 after the A river and 8 turn failed to help him.
