The 2023 PokerGO Tour (PGT) Mixed Games $10,300 buy-in Big Bet Mix event started on February 7. But its two last players; Maxx Coleman and Ben Lamb paused it to compete in the schedule’s next tournament before its registration period lapsed.
The poker pros extended the pause for six days and resumed action after the series’ other events ended. Lamb beat Coleman and won the $186,300 top prize and title.
The latter reached two final tables in the series. He finished second with $117,600 in the $10,300 Dealer’s Choice.
Lamb garnered 304 PGT points in the two tournaments which helped him hold the third position in the PGT Mixed Games Player of the Series points race. Dan Zack won the competition with 352 points and John Monnette was second with 316 points. Lamb has won over $15.2 million since he started playing poker and this was his 18th recorded live poker event title.
The $10,300 buy-in Big Bet Mix tournament featured Big O, no-limit 2-7 single draw, no-limit hold ’em, pot-limit, no-limit five-card draw high, Omaha hi-lo, pot-limit deuce-to-seven triple draw, and pot-limit Omaha. It attracted 69 players and had a $690,000 prize pool. Yet, its top ten players won money including Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Dan Zack, Johannes Becker, and Brian Rast.

The Final Day’s Final Table Moments
Adam Friedman had the largest stack before the final day’s action started. Sam Soverel got busted first in the sixth position after his 9-8 low lost to Craig Chait’s 8-7 low in pot-limit triple draw deuce-to-seven lowball.
Ben Yu exited the tournament in fifth place after he put the final big blind in no-limit hold’em using a 7-2 suited. Coleman used A-3 to make a pair of threes before winning the pot and sending Yu home.
Chait lost a huge chunk of his stack after Lamb’s Q-J outran his A-3 in a no-limit hold ’em pot. The former opted to move all-in in no-limit deuce-to-seven single draw lowball with a three-card draw. He faced Coleman’s 10-8-6 in a two-card draw.
Coleman made a 10-9-8-6-4 improvement before Chait revealed 9-2 to draw to a nine low. The latter’s run ended in fourth place.
Friedman risked ending his run when he did a no-limit five-card draw high round. He used 4Heart Suit4Club Suit to put his remaining chip in as Lamb revealed QSpade SuitQClub Suit. The latter got trip queens from the draw, and the former struggled to improve.
Unfortunately, he finished third with $89,700 and increased his recorded lifetime poker event earnings to almost $4 million. His exit set up a heads-up match between Coleman and Lamb, the latter having an over 4:1 chip advantage.
Coleman reduced the stack gap after doubling up twice and got the lead. A round of pot-limit Omaha had the final hand as Coleman used AClub SuitQClub Suit8Heart Suit3Club Suit to make a 900,000 button raise prompting Lamb to use AHeart SuitJSpade Suit9Spade Suit7Club Suit to defend a big blind.
The flop revealed 10Diamond Suit8Club Suit4Club Suit. Lamb wagered, and Coleman used a pair of eight to call.
The turn revealed 7Heart Suit earning Lamb the lead and a jack-high straight. KHeart Suit on the river locked the title and pot for him. Coleman finished second with $138,000.
