PokerStars is preparing to bring back the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker for a third year running, with the schedule being released this week. The first NJSCOOP took place in 2016 and last year was an even greater success, leading to the 3rd installment for this April. Running from the 14th until the 30th, the third annual NJSCOOP will provide players with 80 events in total with $1.3 million in minimum prize money up for grabs.
The 2018 NJSCOOP is open to players located in New Jersey and will offer 40 numbered events with High and Low versions of each, hence the 80 tournaments total. Players can choose to compete in either version based on how much they wish to pay. PokerStars has made it easy for all players to compete by offering affordable buy-ins plus the more higher level options.
The most anticipated event on the schedule will of course be the Main Event. This time around, PokerStars will be offering the $500 Main Event with a $200,000 guarantee for the High version and a smaller $50 buy-in with a $40,000 guarantee for the Low version.
The Main Events will offer quality prize pools but also the chance to win a Platinum Pass. PokerStars has been offering Platinum Passes via online and land-based events to provide players with a chance to compete in the 2019 Player’s No-Limit Hold’em Championship set to take place in the Bahamas in January. During the NJSCOOP Main Events, the winner of the Low and High event will be given a $30,000 Platinum Pass on top of their cash prize.
Players will find that satellites are already on offer at PokerStars NJ for players to be able to win a seat to compete in various events. Included in the mix is the Main Event Freeroll Challenge, which allows players to compete without having to pay a buy-in. Spin & Go tournaments are also on offer for just $4, providing players with a chance to win a seat to the Main Event.
