Barcelona is crucial for European Poker Tour and it has been the only city which hosted the EPT every year since it was established and had its first season in 2004. It is a vibrant city with vigorous people and plenty of great food and drinks. It has a great offer when it comes to nightlife which makes it the most attractive spot for the players all around Europe (and the world.) In other words, they come here not only to concentrate and play poker but also to enjoy themselves and feel the beauty that the architecture of this Catalonian city offers.

The 13-day long EPT Barcelona will have a total of 34 tournaments and the buy-ins will start from €120 and go up to €100,000. There is another very popular tournament that happens that day – €1,100 EPT National. For some reason, it gains a lot of attention and only last year there were a total of 4,500 entrants to the tournament. The winner last year was an Argentinian player Pedro Cairat who won a total of €432,178.

The next big tournament to follow is the €5,300 EPT Main Event which will take place on Monday, August 27. It is specific because it lasts a lot longer than the usual tournaments – 7 days. The champion is usually declared on the seventh day and Sebastian Malec was the person who is currently defending the title. He managed to win €1,122,800 in the previous tournament and win the title after he managed to defeat a field of 1,785 entrants.

Finally, the €100,000 Super High Roller will begin on Saturday, August 25 and will last for three days. Last year, it was Igor Kurganov from PokerStars TeamPro who managed to win €1,300,300 in this event.
