UK Poker Player Faces Murder Charges In US

A prominent UK professional poker player was recently extradited to the US (more specifically, Colorado) in order to face murder chargers relating to his wife’s death in 1997. Sabrina Bebb-Jones (deceased) owned a Grand Junction hotel with her husband, Marcus Bebb-Jones when hotel employees reported her missing in 1997.

Police questioned Marcus Beb- Jones, who reportedly told them that Sabrina had took their three year old son and left town after the couple had a disagreement.

Police believe Bebb-Jones murdered his wife and then proceeded to dump her remains in a secluded area of Garfield County. He then, allegedly, headed to Las Vegas and ran up thousands of dollars on credit cards in his wife’s names. This information was reported by the London Telegraph, based on testimony by US Lawyer Aron Watkins in an extradition hearing.

According to Watkins, following the days after Sabrina’s disappearance, the couple’s child was discovered by himself in a Las Vegas motel room. A day after, Marcus attempted suicide via a gunshot in his mouth, but amazingly survived without any major injuries.

In 2004 Sabrina’s skull was found in a rural area of Garfield County. Bebb-Jones was arrested until 2009, and was just extradited on Saturday. The extradition deal ensures that prosecutors can try for a life sentence but not the death penalty.

As for his poker career, according to Pokerpages.com, Bebb-Jones has earned over $220,626 in tournaments, with three first place showings.
