Truckee Gaming Is the New Rail City Casino’s Owner

Affinity Gaming, formerly called Herbst Gaming and Affinity Gaming, is a sports betting and casino company that operates in Paradise, Nevada. It announced last week that it was selling Rail City Casino to Truckee Gaming, its previous owner.
Did The Company Disclose the Casino’s Price?

Herbst Gaming ran the casino for over a decade. Szony, its operating partner and Truckee Gaming’s CEO, managed several Northern Nevada gaming venues, including Rail City. The company ended its bankruptcy reorganization in 2011 after appointing Szony as its CEO in 2007.

He helped it regain three casinos in 2012 after forming Truckee Gaming. Even so, Affinity Gaming hasn’t revealed the casinos’ price and transaction, which it hopes to complete in December after getting approval from Nevada’s gaming regulators.

Szony said that they haven’t made a final agreement in the casino but are thrilled to regain it. Also, they are anticipating working with the casino’s employees and welcoming them into the gaming company.

The CEO stated that they made perfect timing for the sale due to Sparks’ casino market’s changes and growth. Rail City Casino’s main focus is local players as it lacks hotel rooms. The 24,000 square feet gaming property has a William Hill Raceway, 415 slot machines, a bookmaker, a restaurant with a buffet, and the Ale House American Café and a bookmaker.

What Is Spark’s Gaming Revenue Potential?

Spark City’s gaming revenue in 2022 rose by 16.7 percent to $14.2 million unlike in 2021. The Nugget Casino Resort, one of Northern Nevada’s largest casinos, is almost being sold for $195 million to Century Casinos. Still, the city got a big economic boost from the $120 million Legends Bay’s launch last August.

Szony said that new enterprises and housing are steering the area’s economic growth. Besides, Sparks has a dynamic gaming marker that favors all operators.

The Colorado Belle’s Closure in Laughlin

Nevada’s gaming regulators inquired about the Colorado Belle’s reopening in a recent hearing for Golden Entertainment’s three Laughlin casinos’ new general manager. The hotel-casino closed on march 18, 2020 after Nevada suspended all gaming operations for 78 days during the Coronavirus pandemic. Yet, it didn’t reopen after the state lifted the gaming suspension as Edgewater and Aquarius resumed operations.

Jeremy Jenson managed Laughlin casinos in 2022. He said that the local casino market has been stable for two years.
The Gaming Control Board approved his casino license application. This was its fourth time to license Jenson who previously served as Golden’s three Pahrump’s casinos and two Arizona Charlie’s casinos.

The Gaming Control Board released a statement indicating that Laughlin’s seven satellite bookies and nine commercial casinos generated $500.7 million in gaming income in 2022, three percent higher than in 2021. Even so, the revenue was 2.2 percent less than the $512.2 million they raked in in 2019 before the global pandemic.

The casinos and bookies set a new gaming revenue record in 2007 after generating $631.2 million. So, Laughlin and North Las Vegas’ gaming markets have consistently made less profit compared to before the pandemic.
