PokerStars Stadium Series Round-Up: Over $52M Paid Out; Twitch Record Shattered

What a great time it is for poker and playing online right now. The PokerStars Stadium Series had a wild amount of $ paid out, with the streaming record being shattered on the ever-popular Twitch. This is a fantastic sign as the numbers are only getting better and better in both viewership and participation.

There was a $5,200 buy-in, a number that was watched closely by the PokerNews Live Reporting Team. To see high numbers like this is truly impressive, and tells just what the future of the poker world is going to be looking like. Several winners took home sums of money high in the six figures, as the next section will allude to more.

The Stadium Series After Party on August 16th already has $1 million guaranteed, and we still have about a week and a half to go until that takes place. The final numbers will be wild.

The Big Winners

The top three finishers all left the event with significantly more money than they came in with. Coming in third place, and earning a total of $570,220 was Maxime “Daghemuneguu” Chilaud. In second place with a total of $553,932 was Vlada “Vlada2108” Stojanovic. And the big winner, bringing in a total of $721,235, was “Fernando “fviana” Viana.”

The names in parenthesis are the names that they used when they played. Viana has been a fixture on the poker scene for many years and is a representative of the 4bet Poker Team. His previous best result happened in 2019 when he finished third in a WSOP Event, the NLHE Super Turbo Bounty. He came away with $116,426 there.

Stojanovic’s career began by playing a lot of small-stakes games under the radar at his local casino. He’s still in the early stages of his career, but this recent second-place finish should set him up well to have immediate success in the near future.

Going all the way back to 2016, Chilaud’s highest finish had been 21st, at an event in Barcelona last year. So to see him finish third hear, and bring in a number in excess of $550,000, it is a pleasant surprise. His largest amount of money won before this event was south of $25,000. What a performance.

Other Payouts

In all, there were seven players that were paid out over $100,000 from their finishes in the event. Other notable monetary gains: 4th place: serggorelyi7 ($310,287); 5th place: Sergi “Futti18” Koliakov ($224,249); 6th place: MarinkaHT ($162,068); and in 7th place; LeslieGroves ($117,128).

While the top three finishers all hail from different countries, five of the next six inside of the top are all from Russia. It was great to see that you had players from five different countries within the top nine. It speaks volumes on the worldwide popularity and dominance of poker around the world.

All of these players will be back to continue playing as the days go on. Plenty more events still need to be held, and they’ll hope to raise their monthly earnings into the millions category.
