Nationwide Casino Resorts in Hiring Mode

Nationwide Casino Resorts in Hiring Mode

Casinos across the country are in hiring mode, with a Las Vegas resort being the latest to schedule a job fair at the end of this week. Some casinos are conducting interviews and hiring on the spot to fill the dire need of employees.

The Tuscany Suites and Casino on Flamingo Road in Las Vegas is interviewing potential employees on Friday starting 10 am to 1 pm. Interested persons must apply for various positions in different departments in the casino.

These applications are available in Spanish and English. The resort plans to hold the interview and hire some qualified employees on the same day.

The casino announced the interview on its website. It is offering part-time and full-time positions with paid vacations and medical insurance. Some of the open positions include keeping the casino and its surroundings clean, generally, utility porters.

Part-time and on-call positions include cocktail servers for the pool area. People interested in these positions are required to send a resume and attach a picture wearing a swimsuit.

The job opening at Tuscany comes a few weeks after other casinos in Sin City have held hiring events to invite new employees. With an increase in visitors to the city in the past few months, there is a demand for workers in the hospitality industry. Another resort with job openings is Circus Circus hotel-casino on the Strip. It has posted open posts on its website.

High Demand for Workers

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in the gaming industry are projected to increase by 24 percent between 2020 and 2030. It is thus clear that the demand for casino workers is not slowing down any time soon.

The bureau predicts that there will be around 20,500 available jobs in the gaming industry each year for the next ten years. The bureau suggests that these job openings would be a result of people moving to other occupations, retiring, or moving to another location.

Last year, the average annual salary for gaming workers in the country was $27,050. This year, most casinos are offering higher wages, comprehensive benefits packages, and job hiring on the spot.

$2,000 Signing Bonus in Arkansas

One casino in Arkansas, Southland Casino, is sweetening the deal by offering a $2,000 bonus to some employees who will hold some job positions. The casino is in West Memphis.

It is holding job interviews every Thursday until November 11, 2021. In some cases, interviewed persons will be hired on the same day of the interview.

Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in Louisiana also has several open positions. At the moment, there are 51 openings with ongoing hiring.

The resort is on the west of Lake Charles, a few miles to the Texas border. The job positions are listed on Delta Downs Facebook page, with some openings in the food and beverage sector.

As the interviews are ongoing, Louisiana is going through a set of setbacks, including destructive hurricanes. Just yesterday, the state was about to be hit by another storm, Hurricane Nicholas, that would pose a threat to casinos in the state. Instead, it struck the Texas shoreline on Tuesday and downgraded into a tropical storm later in the day.
