The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, managed to match the first five numbers during the drawing that took place on December 26 and get the prize worth $1 million. However, since he paid another $1 for a Power Play, this enabled him to win a prize that’s two times larger than the original.
The numbers that the lucky winner managed to guess right were 10, 24, 27, 35, and 53. If he had managed to match the Powerball as well, which was 18, he would have won a total of $341 million. Still, winning $2 million is something that can turn one’s life around completely.
According to the PR released for Whas11, the man said that he had thought he had had a heart attack after getting the number right. After paying the taxes, the final check was $1.4 million.
