DraftKings Partners with Design Works Gaming to Offer Online Casino Games in Connecticut

DraftKings is expanding its online casino offering in Connecticut. This comes after the giant partnered with Design Works Gaming which will provide DraftKings with technology and online casino games.

Design Works Gaming is a prominent game producer that recently entered the U.S. market. Connecticut is the fourth U.S. state the game developer is setting roots. Speaking about the entry into Connecticut, Design Works Gaming founder and CEO said that it was a testament to the firm’s commitment to delivering exemplary gaming experience in the country.

Troy Zurawski continued to say that expanding into individual U.S. states had unique complexities. But, the CEO noted that his team understood the local preferences. Zurawski confirmed that his firm knew how to navigate the legal landscape and tailor services to meet Connecticut players` needs.

Troy also said that the partnership with DraftKings will allow the company to bring the same great casino content as they have in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Design Works Gaming is a fast-growing game developer with a reputation for delivering appealing casino content.

Design Works Enters Its Fourth U.S. State

The company started by partnering with Caesars and BetRivers to offer New Jersey clients appealing online casino games in 2021. Then, it partnered with MGM in November 2022 to offer its games in Michigan.

Barely a month later, Design Works Gaming partnered with Caesars to extend its offering to Michigan online casino players.

The developer offers its content to Pennsylvanians through a partnership with Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers. Some of the titles from the developer include:

  • Test Your Strength LuckyTap
  • LuckyTap
  • Piggy Payouts Bank Buster LuckyTap
  • Double Fancy 7s
  • 10X Fortune

Partnering with DraftKings to offer its content is just a first step for Design Works. Previously, the game developer has partnered with more than one casino operator in a state to offer its content.

According to a press release from Design Works, DraftKings is a trusted initial partner in Connecticut. This could mean that the developer is open to partnering with another casino operator in the state to offer its content. For now, Connecticut players can only access Design’s exemplary content at Light and Wonder’s OpenGaming.

Connecticut Online Casinos

Connecticut legalized online casinos in 2021. This came after the introduction of HB 6451, A bill designed to bring online casinos, poker, sports betting, daily fantasy sports, and retail sports betting to the Nutmeg State.

With the signing of the bill into law, the state started with a soft launch, followed by the official launch on October 19, 2021. There are only two online casinos in the state.

This includes DraftKings and Mohegan Sun, tied to the only two land-based tribal casinos. That is, DraftKings has a partnership with Foxwood, while FanDuel powers Mohegan Sun Casino of the tribal casino going by the same branding.

The casinos have to pay an 18 percent tax revenue of their earnings from online casinos for the first five years. This figure will jump to 20 percent after the first five years since the launch of online casinos.
