“We just couldn’t believe it, you daydream about it. But you never believe it’s going to happen to you.”
That’s what Anthony Marrocco said after what could possibly be the luckiest weekend in his life, or anyone else’s for that matter.
It started on Friday when at a drug store to buy a birthday card, they bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket. The jackpot was $37 million and then they went about their weekend which included a trip to the Casino Rama in Orillia.
It was at the Casino Rama that Anthony’s wife, Antonietta, won $13,000 on a slot machine jackpot. At the time this was a big win but come to find out, it wouldn’t even cover the taxes for what was to follow.
According to Antonietta, “About 8:00pm last night, my daughter came home and she started to give me numbers, then I got my ticket and I started checking them and I said, ‘Oh my gosh I have a couple of numbers. Let’s go on the computer and check them.’ They were all there.”
They had one of two winning tickets for the jackpot lottery and had just won half of the $37 million jackpot.
“I thought they were pulling my leg,” said Anthony when he was told, “It was a little hard to believe.”
The couple has been playing the lottery consistently over the last eight years. They own their own construction business and have four children and four grandchildren.

According to Antonietta, they are hoping the kids will take over the business and her and Anthony can take it easy and relax.
