Caesars Entertainment Will Have an Inclusive Hiring Process

Caesars Entertainment is among the leading casino operators in the United States. The company is almost achieving its ethnic and minority goals that it targets to implement by 2025. It recently released a “Corporate Social Responsibility” report that proves this claim.

The casino operator intends to assign half of its leadership roles to people of color (POC) and women in three years. Reports state that its market capitalization exceeds $7.5 billion as it is a successful casino firm in the country.

Caesars is committed to promoting equality in the U.S. casino industry as it plans to hire diverse leaders by choosing more female executives. It aims to have about 50 percent of its leaders being women. They will hold senior and mid-level management positions.

The operator also pledged to allocate 50 percent of such positions to POC. Caesars stated in the 2021-2022 Corporate Social Responsibility report that women comprised 46 percent of its mid-level staff by December 2021, and POC held 43 percent of its leadership positions.

The rates were 1 percent and 3 percent higher than those in 2020. Yet, some diversity hiring data didn’t indicate an improvement. About 32 percent of the company’s senior leaders were women by January 1 this year, which is 3 percent less than the number in the 2020-2021 report.

Caesars sets its diversity goals in 2021. Still, this was Caesars Entertainment, Inc.’s first year to report as one company after the former Caesars Entertainment Corporation merged with Eldorado Resorts.

Female staff in the hospitality industry have faced gender inequality for a long period, especially when advancing their careers or seeking promotion. But, Caesars has hired over 54,000 personnel.

In-House Promotions

Caesars Entertainment, together with other reputable casino operators in the country, such as MGM Resorts, Wynn Resorts, and Las Vegas Sands, are committed to employing more non-white men and women. Caesars is determined to promote POC and women from within through its Emerging Leaders Program.

The reports detailed that the company launched the program to offer competent Team Members at the director and manager levels opportunities to broaden their skillsets and increase their company’s operations knowledge. Also, the program concentrates on advertisement, diversity, exposure, networking, and professional development.

Team Members took part in the leaders program last year, and 15 percent of them got promoted to various leadership roles by June this year. There were nine people of color and nine women, thus demonstrating Caesars’ approach to include everyone in developing talent. The gaming company stated that it is focusing on promoting racial parity and full gender in all departments.

More Female Graduates

Recent reports show that the number of adult women in the U.S. with a bachelor’s or post-graduate degree has surpassed that of adult men. The Pew Research Center showed in 2021 that 39 percent of females from 25 years and above have a bachelor’s degree, unlike 37 percent of men.

Gender disparity among adults between 25 and 34 years is huge at 36 percent of men and 46 percent of women. Most Americans back gender equality in workplace campaigns. Pew Research discovered in a 2018 study that almost sixty percent of American adults believe female leaders are more competent than male leaders.
