Ben Scrogins Wins the $2500 No-Limit Hold 'em Main Event at bestbet Jacksonville

The $2500 No-limit Hold ’em main event ended on June 28, 2021, with Ben Scrogins scooping the highest pay of $158,915. This is not the first time Ben played at bestbet Jacksonville. He has played over 200 tournaments in the poker room.

In fact, most of Ben’s wins reflect bestbet Jacksonville as it is at this poker room that he first played one of his preliminary live poker tournaments. It was a $25 buy-in tournament geared for college-group players in 2015.
The poker player from Atlantic Beach has had several memorable runs, including a win at the World Poker Tour preliminary event. With Monday’s win, this is the best win ever for the poker player.

Scrogins won first place from 339 entries featuring some of the best pro poker players. These include eight-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring champion Kyle Cartwright, Dustin Holladay, and several others.

His win was highly motivated by a group of people present at the event. Most of these were his friends and family.
Scrogins said he felt better that his friends and family were present. He almost expressed his joy with tears but had to pull himself together to win the tournament.

After his win, Ben described his experience at bestbet Jacksonville as amazing. He said that the poker room’s staff and friends use a first-name basis while communicating. Scrogins describes the poker room and Jacksonville in general as a second home with a good family.

This is the first time ben is winning a six-digit prize. Before this, he had won $94 515 for the Heartland Poker Tour Daytona Beach Kennel Club in 2017. Now, Ben has a total earning of $378,499 from live tournament wins.

How It Went Down

Besides being the six-digit winner on Monday, Ben also scored 720 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was the first time he played a qualifying game, yet it earned him a 162nd standing in the 2021 Player of the Year by Global Poker.

The last day’s main event started with eight players, whereby Dustin Holladay was leading in chips. Cartwright came in second while Scrogins came in third with 1,920,000 in chips.

The first to leave the table was Jeremy Joseph, as he was short stacked. Lamare Davis straight beat Jeremy’s pocket jacks, dropping Jeremy to the eighth position with $20,081.

Although Mac Johnson started with the least chips, 175,000, he managed to double and stay longer. However, his success was short-lived after Cartwright beat his K10 with an AJ. Mac finished in seventh place with $25,695.
Joseph Crowley finished in sixth place with $33,292 after 6 river failed to save him against Scrogins. The ace-queen of Jessica Cai did not improve, leading to her elimination at fifth place. She went home with $43 669.

Lamare Davis, with the second-lowest number in chips, managed to reach the top four. He went all-in with KJ on a board with A1079. Ben called with 108, which Davis did not get an out, coming out with a win of $57,979.

With three players remaining, we witnessed an exciting hands exchange. After several exchanges, Dustin was eliminated at third place with a win of $77,910. Cartwright was the runner-up with earnings of $105 942 while Scrogins scooped the win.
