Online poker room, PokerStars, is a giant in the poker industry. They have created a brand that surpasses many in the online poker industry. PokerStars has created many of the most anticipated land tours in the game of poker and they recently announced the addition of yet another tour.
The newest poker tour created by PokerStars is called the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) and it will begin in Galway Ireland in December. February will mark the first UK stop on the tour which will be held in Manchester.
Vicky Coren, Team PokerStars Pro, and Commented on the event stating: “This is an incredibly exciting addition to the range of PokerStars live events. Here is our own local British and Irish tour, nicely accessible for those who can’t travel abroad very often or who save their foreign travel for larger international events.”
Other stops in Ireland will include Dublin and Killarney, one stop will be in Scotland and Coventry, Nottingham and Brighton will be stops in the UK. The Grand Final of the new tour will be part of the European Poker Tour London which will take place in October 2010.
The new tour will have a leader board and the top 100 players on that board will be eligible for a 10,000 pound free roll. The top three will earn a sponsorship from PokerStars to season two events of the UKIPT.
Buy-ins for the new tournament will range from 500 pounds to 2000 euro so amateur to professional players will be able to compete. And of course, PokerStars will be providing satellites to the events so players can earn UKIPT packages and save money that way.
