As New Jersey residents prepare this weekend for one of the largest snowstorms in years, Party Poker is preparing to launch its exclusive “Restore the Shore” charity poker tournament. So if you’re in the Garden State 
this weekend and snowed in, cozy up and join other online poker players to have fun while giving to a good cause.
Initially reported by 4flush.com here, nj.partypoker.com has partnered with Toms River based Hometown Hero’s, and will be hosting six tournaments between now and June with the goal to raise money, and help restore the various shores in New Jersey damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
The charity poker series kicks off this weekend and will be benefiting Seaside Heights. Below is the complete “Restore the Shore” schedule with the respective towns listed, and the dates that benefit them:
January 4, 2014 – Seaside Heights
February 1, 2014 – Tom’s River / Ortley Beach
March 1, 2014 – Brick
April 5, 2014 – Union Beach
May 3, 2014 – Ocean Gate
June 7, 2014 – Lavallette
The six monthly online Texas Hold ‘em tournaments will carry a $20 ($10+$10) entry fee, $10 to the prize pool, with the additional $10 going straight to the Hometown Hero’s. Party Poker will also match each player’s $10 donation and give an additional $10 to the Hometown Heroes foundation as well.
To play in the tournament, New Jersey players simply need to login to their nj.partypoker.com account and search the tournament lobby for Restore the Shore – Seaside Heights NL Hold ’em’ on January 4th.
