In the National Football League; two teams seeking their first win of the season will mix it up in Cincinnati. The Houston Texans will battle against the Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams are coming off poor offensive performances in Week 1. The Houston Texans were smacked in the face at home by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1.
For the Cincinnati Bengals, they took on divisional rival Baltimore in Week 1. Cincinnati failed to score in the game, and were beat. In this game, the Cincinnati Bengals are small favorites at home over Houston. You can bet on the Cincinnati Bengals -3 over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.
Bengals Turnover Machines in Week 1
What a disastrous start for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. The Bengals saw their quarterback Andy Dalton throw for four interceptions in the loss. The Bengals were not good offensively at all, with a total of 5 turnovers. Giovani Bernard rushed 7 times, for 40 yards in the loss.
Defensively, Cincinnati was not terrible. They allowed an early Justin Tucker field goal in the first quarter, before a bad second quarter which allowed two touchdowns late. The Bengals will not have things much easier in Week 3, as they are forced to head out on the road and take on the Green Bay Packers.
Quarterback Problem in Houston
Tom Savage took the start for the Houston Texans in Week 1, and lasted just one half. Savage was not good for Houston; completing just 7/13 passes for 62 yards. Rookie DeShaun Watson then came in and threw for 102 yards and a touchdown. The Texans are going to have a quarterback question, and many feel Watson should get the start.
Lamar Miller and DeAndre Hopkins are two offensive threats for the Texans. Miller rushed the football 17 times for 65 yards in the loss. Hopkins caught the lone touchdown in the game as well. The Texans turned the football over 4 times in this game.
Thursday Night Football
This should certainly be an interesting game. It’s a pretty poor Thursday Night Football game. Two teams that had high expectations, and two teams that have recently been in the postseason. Remember, last season the Texans won their division, and won a postseason game. Cincinnati did not reach the postseason last year, but were in it several years in a row previously.
The difference in this game comes down to the home team. Both teams have a quarterback that is really struggling. Both teams are featuring elite receivers that are going to need to get the football in their hands early and often. Look for a low scoring game though, as neither offense seems to get it going. The final bet for this game is going to go with the home team. Bet on the Cincinnati Bengals -3 over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.
