Overbet and Iron Duke both closed their Merge Gaming skins earlier this week. Both had been on the network for years. Players that visit the Overbet website are greeted with this message:

The “Preferred Partners” link offers players three choices. They may sign up for Carbon Poker, PlayersOnly or Sportsbook.com. Players may have their balances transferred to these skins but VIP Points, tournament tickets and VIP levels are lost.
The IronDuke website does not offer any message to players. The site is still operational and the Merge Gaming software can still be downloaded. Players that attempt to login to the online poker room will see a similar message once the software loads. The IronDuke message is identical to the Overbet one where players are instructed to sign up with one of the three main Merge Gaming skins and have their balance transferred there. Just as with Overbet, all past promotions that were earned on IronDuke will be lost.
PokerView may be the next Merge Gaming skin to be looking for the exit door. PokerView sent out a mass email soliciting offers to purchase the Merge Gaming skin last month.
A number of large skins have already closed down or left the network. Black Chip Poker moved to the Winning Poker Network in December 2012. RPM Poker closed their doors and sent their players to the main skins without notice in December. RPM Poker players lost all VIP Points, VIP tiers and tournament tickets. Also in December, Hero Poker had an orderly exit as they gave notice to closing down. Hero Poker offered to reimburse players any promotional value lost by the move.
