International Poker Network to Close May 28

gtechThe International Poker Network (IPN), operated by GTECH, will close its doors on May 28. That is the date announced on several IPN skins, including Poker Heaven and Casino Club Poker.

Poker Heaven is directing players to its Ongame and Microgaming skins in anticipation of this closing. Casino Club Poker simply tells players that it is closing on May 28 without stating any future plans posted.

Some sites will not be waiting for this date to cease IPN operations. Paradise Poker will close its IPN skin on May 2. Players are directed to start playing on its Ongame skin after that date. PAF has stopped allowing new players to sign up for its IPN skin, known as Diamond. It directs players to create an account at other poker platforms offered by the site.

Digibet has removed all mention of poker from its lobby. Existing pages may be found in Google. New players can still sign up on these pages, while existing players may continue to give action to the IPN skin until it ceases operations.

The network is in the process of distributing the bad beat jackpot through a series of freerolls. The last one is being held today.

This move does not affect IPN platforms that operate through government lotteries or regulated markets. The Canadian and Spanish sites, as well as Austria’s Win2Day and Sweden’s Svenska Spel, will continue to operate.
