Lawrence made his plea in a New York City courtroom to US District Judge P. Kevin Castle. NETeller has reportedly been cooperative with the US government thus far, and as part of Lawrence's plea bargain, will remain to do so.

Peter Nieman, Lawrence's attorney, stated, "Mr. Lawrence is very glad to have this episode over and looks forward to moving on to the next stage of his life."

According to initial reports, as a part of his plea, Lawrence has agreed to take responsibility for a portion of the $100 million sought from NETeller by the US government.

Another part of his please agreement required Lawrence to make this statement, "I came to understand that providing payment services to online gambling web sites serving customers in the United States was wrong."

Until his hearing, set for October 29, 2007, Canadian native Stephen Lawrence will be free to roam the United States, Canada and the Bahamas.
