Week 2 of College Football Set to Kick Off Thursday Night

What a great Week 1 of action in College Football. We saw great finishes, fun upsets, and many teams that proved they were one of the best in the game.

We turn the page to Week 2 and look ahead at some great games. The heavy portion of the slate is on Saturday; there is a game on Thursday night and a pair of games on Friday.

Let’s look at some of the best games for Week 2 of the College Football season.

Thursday: Murray State Racers at Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals will look to make it two in a row as they take on Murray State. The Cardinals won this game by 45 points the last time they met six years ago. Jeff Brohm would love to keep the momentum going as they go to Indiana next week for another challenge.

Friday: Illinois Fighting Illini at Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks are at home and a slight favorite here (-3.5). The Jayhawks started slow but won big against Missouri State in the opener.

For Illinois, they had a new quarterback play well, but the story was their kicker. Making a field goal in the final seconds helped the home Illini avoid an upset from Toledo. This should be a great game, with the winner moving to 2-0.

Saturday

Utah Utes at Baylor Bears

The Utes are coming off an impressive win over Florida in the opener. There is no doubt that Utah is going to be battle-tested early. While Baylor is a big program, they do not look to be playing the part. Baylor lost at home to Texas State and also lost their quarterback, Blake Shapen. This should be all Utah (-7.5).

Iowa Hawkeyes at Iowa State Cyclones

It’s a rivalry game! The Iowa Hawkeyes started the party early with a couple of quick scores in the win over Utah State. But then it stalled, and the offense looked like Iowa of old. They will have to do better at putting points on the board when they go to Ames on Saturday.

The Cyclones are coming off a three-touchdown rout over Northern Iowa. The Cyclones are underdogs (+4.5) but are our pick to win this game on Saturday.

Ole Miss Rebels at Tulane Green Wave

A pair of Top 25 teams will mix it up here in New Orleans. Many overlook the Green Wave in the national picture. But, this is a test they are not quite ready for. Lane Kiffin and his Ole Miss Rebels will show they are one of the best teams in the nation.

The Rebels scored 73 last week. While they will not do that this week, their physical play will be too much for the Green Wave. Ole Miss (-7.5) should win by double digits on Saturday.

Texas Longhorns at Alabama Crimson Tide

The other matchup features a pair of Top 25 teams. This game will be in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide should have blown the doors off the Longhorns a season ago. That team was better than this one for Texas.

Look for Alabama to get after it, and make it clear they are here to play for one goal, and that’s to be in the final game of the season. The Crimson Tide (-7) should win easily here.

Wisconsin Badgers at Washington State Cougars

Big Ten at the Pac-12. The Pac-12 looked great in Week One. Do not be surprised if they continue to look great. It’s been a long time, but this conference has some dudes.

Washington State is talented and at home. They are the underdog here (+6.5). That line seems off. Washington State not only covers in this game but wins at home.

There are some of our favorite games for Week 2 in College Football. There are many other great ones, but narrowing it down to these games was quite a difficult task already. Enjoy the games, and best of luck with all your College Football betting!
